Financial Security

This morning I came a upon an article about being financially fit. The article is a good one as it discussed things you can do to manage your money. It also offered a few links to places where you can create a budget.

So, I decided to go to the website and check them out, The first one Learnvest is nicely designed and looks easy to use. So I signed up for it, began my entering of things and nothing. The page got caught up on a script and the site never loaded. I blame Microsoft.

Then I went to Bundle. This site seems more promising. So I signed up and clicked on a few things thinking I am going to create an account for myself. Low and behold it ask for my bank, my username, and my password. Why on earth would it need all that? I closed my window never to return to that sire again. They are not getting my bank information.

I have seen a lot of articles about people who get ripped off, so here is some advice.

1. Don’t ever give away sensitive information. Hold those user names and passwords under close surveillance.

2. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. No one can turn your $5,000 into $5,000,000 overnight.

Educational Cancer

Upon waking this morning, I decided to check my email. As I gazed upon Yahoo’s homepage, an article caught my attention. It was about the amount of money Rutgers paid Snookie to appear at the college. I am not interested in why she was there, but that Rutgers paid her more then a Nobel Prize winner.

This fact is one of the many reasons this country is having as many issues as it is. When celebrities trump scientists be wary, very wary. Doctors, scientist, engineers are all the people who help to innovate and improve our lives. They are worth more then those who act like trash.

As a country, intelligence needs to be regarded, prized and held in esteem. Unfortunately the politicians are attempting to force feed you that the educators and the education system are draining our society. As funding is being cut more and more from the schools, the education of our children is getting worse.

This country is getting dumber and dumber. Go ahead, sit back and watch some moron on the TV, maybe they’ll cure cancer.

Anorexia for Gas

Ideas don’t come easily these days. I wonder if it’s from being an adult. Does your imagination fade much like the sun on a winter’s day, leaving you with an empty void to be filled by useless games and mind numbing TV.

So I decided to write all this down and instead I am finding frustration. The words are not coming as easily as I hoped. My fingers are not connecting with my brain. Mean while I am chili and I have no heat, no TV, just the internet.

I had cancelled the TV in hopes of saving a few dollars. The satellite service also was the worst thing ever. A snow storm would knock the TV off. But what amazes me, is how people will pay hundreds of dollars to be entertained, but will keep the thermostat at 60 degrees.

Unfortunately, the price of gas has been increasing, along with that natural gas, and other commodities deemed necessary. Expect to pay more at the pump and go on a diet. Anorexia here I come. It’s just cheaper to not eat, but at least I’ll be entertained.

For those who want to check gas prices before they leave the house try www.fuelmeup.com.

Side Bar in My Life

Writing has become such a side bar in my life that I haven’t blogged in two years. I might almost begin to think that I have given up on doing something I love. This abandonment could only mean a few things. I no longer love writing. I have let too many other things side track me. Or, maybe I simply have become the most lazy person I know.

Once upon a time writing took up much of my day. I journaled at least once a day and made sure to turn powerfull thoughts into poems. It took a person from my hometown to remind me of what I haven’t been doing. He said “You can’t find one hour in the day to write?” So with that comment, I ran out and bought a brand new journal. In one month I wrote four entries. Four!

Alas, the full time job has become full time life. When did that happen?

A Single Leaf

As one stumbles through life, looking for what they think is a rewarding and filling existence, time often becomes an issue. Is the time moving fast or slow? Have we become a slave to a clock that one didn’t even realize existed? What is time, anyway?

Is time what one perceives it to be? A moment that stands out in a field while the rain gently beats on an upturned face staring at the night sky. Or is it more imaginary then that which is tangible? An intangible minute, an hour, a day, a year that passes by and one can only judge the time by looking at photographs, which were taken with a camera or a mind’s eye.

Is it the perception of reality that changes time? Has my time slipped passed because I didn’t see the opportunities that were there? Have I missed many moments many chances to change things simply because I thought it was not the right time? Is there ever a right time? Can I really see time as tangible? Maybe there is just one single moment that we are all waiting for. A single leaf hanging onto a tree waiting for the right breeze to come a long and send it on its way.

Disclaimers

My blogging has been at a bit of standstill that last year or so. Not really sure why I haven’t bothered, I have had many ideas though I haven’t taken pen to paper or in this case fingers to keyboard.

I could be lazy, or more afraid of who might read it. Strange.

I think I shall right disclaimers on everything. This blog in no way is referring to any persons real or imagined with whom I might interact with, on a non personal level or otherwise socialize. If you think this is referring to you it is not because there are no persons specifically being referred to in this article and I take no responsibility for the thoughts and or actions of myself or Mr. Boots.
